贪污 (tān wū) Corruption
The first word is 贪污 (tān wū) which means corruption. A way of using it in a sentence is 个政府官员被控贪污。(Zhège zhèngfǔ guānyuán bèi kòng tān wū.) This government official is charged with corruption.
贪图 (tān tú) To covet
Another word we can create with 贪 (tān) is 贪图 (tān tú). This means to seek (riches and fame). A way of using it in a sentence is 他贪图名利,不择手段。(Tā tān tú mínglì, bùzé shǒuduàn.) He covets fame and wealth and resorts to any means to achieve it.
贪吃 (tān chī) Gluttonous
Finally, we can create the word 贪吃 (tān chī) which means gluttonous. The 吃 here means to eat. A way of using it in a sentence is 我的狗贪吃,总是偷偷地吃家里的食物。(Wǒ de gǒu tān chī, zǒng shì tōutōu de chī jiālǐ de shíwù.) My dog is gluttonous, always sneaking around to eat food in the house.
