Here are the three idioms (成语) that we looked at in today’s episode:
1. 倾盆大雨 (qīng pén dà yǔ): Raining cats and dogs
Example sentence: 尽管天下着倾盆大雨,可是我还是去上学了。(Jǐnguǎn tiānxiàzhe qīngpén dàyǔ, kěshì wǒ háishì qù shàngxuéle.) Even though it was raining cats and dogs, I still went to school.
2. 易如反掌 (yì rú fǎn zhǎng): A piece of cake
Example sentence: 这件事会易如反掌,交给我办吧!(Zhè jiàn shì huì yìrúfǎnzhǎng, jiāo gěi wǒ bàn ba!) This will be a piece of cake, give the task to me!
3. 脚踏实地 (jiǎo tà shí dì) To be well-grounded
Example sentence: 现在我们要继续脚踏实地 (Xiànzài wǒmen yào jìxù jiǎotàshídì) We need to remain well-grounded now.
