Today’s word of the day is 未 (wèi) which means ‘not yet'. Let’s practice by making different words, phrases, and sentences with 未 (wèi).
未来 (wèi lái) Future
The first word is 未来 (wèi lái) which means ‘future’. Let’s look at each character of this word, 未 means not yet and 来means come. A way of using it in a sentence is: 我的未来很美好。(Wǒ de wèilái hěn měihǎo.) My future is great.
从未 (cóng wèi) Never
Another word we can create with 未 (wèi) is 从未 (cóng wèi). This means ‘never’. A sentence you may hear in dramas is 我从未爱过你。(Wǒ cóng wèi àiguò nǐ.) I never loved you.
未知 (wèi zhī) Unknown
Finally, we can create the word 未知 (wèi zhī) which means unknown. The 知 here means to know. A way of using it in a sentence is 恐惧来源于未知。(Kǒngjù láiyuán yú wèizhī.) Fear comes from the unknown.
