精神 (jīng shén) Mental
The first word is 精神 (jīng shén) which means ‘mental’. A way of using it in a sentence is 这个人精神上有问题。(Zhège rén jīngshén shàng yǒu wèntí.) This person has a mental problem.
神秘 (shén mì) Mysterious
Another word we can create with 神 (shén) is 神秘 (shén mì). This means ‘mysterious’. Let’s again look at each character of this word, 神 means spirit and 秘means secret. A way of using it in a sentence is 他是一个很神秘的人。(Tā shì yīgè hěn shénmì de rén.) He is a very mysterious person.
眼神 (yǎn shén) Expression
Finally, we can create the word 眼神 (yǎn shén) which means expression, normally seen from the eyes. The 眼here means ‘eye’. A way of using it in a sentence is 为什么要用那种眼神看着我? (Wèishénme yào yòng nà zhǒng yǎnshén kànzhe wǒ) Why do you have to look at me with that expression?
