经历 (jīng lì) To experience / Experience
The first word is 经历 (jīng lì) which can be used as a verb to mean ‘to experience’ and a noun to mean ‘experience’. For example, a good or bad experience. A way of using it in a sentence is 经历过无数次失败以后, 我终于成功了。(Jīnglìguò wúshù cì shībài yǐhòu, wǒ zhōngyú chénggōngle.) After failing countless times, I finally succeed.
经验 (jīng yàn) Experience
Another word we can create with 经 (jīng) is 经验 (jīng yàn). This also means ‘experience’, but can only be used as a noun and refers to the experience acquired over time. A way of using it in a sentence is 他是一个经验丰富的经理。(Tā shì yīgè jīngyàn fēngfù de jīnglǐ.) He is a very experienced manager.
已经 (yǐ jīng) Already
Finally, we can create the word 已经 (yǐ jīng) which means ‘already’. A way of using it in a sentence is 我已经来过这里了。(Wǒ yǐjīng láiguò zhèlǐle.) I have already been here before.
