机构 (jī gòu) Organization
The first word is 机构 (jī gòu) which means ‘organization’. A way of using it in a sentence is: 听说那家机构倒闭了。(Tīng shuō nà jiā jīgòu dǎobìle.) I heard that organization closed down.
飞机 (fēi jī) Plane
Another word we can create with 机 (jī) is 飞机 (fēi jī). This is a noun that means plane. 飞 means ‘flying’. A way of using it in a sentence is 我刚下了飞机。(Wǒ gāng xiàle fēijī.) I just got off the plane.
机场 (jī chǎng) Airport
Finally, we can create another related word to the above which is 机场 (jī chǎng) which means ‘airport’. The 场 here means field, so a field of engines and machines. A question you can ask a family or friend is 你可以来机场接我吗？ (Nǐ kěyǐ lái jīchǎng jiē wǒ ma?) Can you come and pick me up from the airport?
