心里话 (xīn lǐ huà) Words from the heart
The first word is 心里话 (xīn lǐ huà) which means ‘words from the heart’. Let’s look at each character of this word, 心里 means in the heart, and 话 means words. A way of using it in a sentence is: 你把心里话说出来吧。(Nǐ bǎ xīnlǐ huàshuō chūlái ba.) Speak out the words from your heart.
脏话 (zāng huà) Curse words
Another word we can create with 话 (huà) is 脏话 (zāng huà). This means ‘curse words’. Let’s again look at each character of this word, 脏 means ‘dirty’ and 话 means ‘words’, so it literally means ‘dirty words’ A way of using it in a sentence is 拜托你别说脏话。(Bàituō nǐ bié shuō zānghuà.) Please don’t say curse words.
不像话 (bú xiànghuà) Outrageous
Finally, we can create the word 不像话 (bú xiànghuà) which means ‘outrageous’. The 不像 here means ‘to be unlike’, so this literally means to not make sense. A way of using it in a sentence is 你结婚才几天就闹离婚,真不像话!(Jiéhūn cái jǐ tiān jiù nào líhūn, zhēn bú xiànghuà!) They have only been married for a few days and are not talking about getting a divorce, so outrageous!
