The first word is 观察 (guān chá) which is a noun that means to observe. Let’s look at each character of this word, 观 means ‘to look at’ and 察 means ‘to check’. A way of using it in a sentence is: 你的观察力很强。(Nǐ de guānchá lì hěn qiáng.) You are very observant.
观点 (guān diǎn) The point of view
Another word we can create with 观 (guān) is 观点 (guān diǎn). This means ‘point of view’. 点 means ‘point’. A way of using it in a sentence is 从我的观点来看，你不应该这么做。(Cóng wǒ de guāndiǎn lái kàn, nǐ bù yīnggāi zhème zuò.) From my point of view, you shouldn’t have done that.
