平常 (píng cháng) Usually
Another word we can create with 常 (cháng) is 平常 (píng cháng). This is a noun that means usually. Let’s again look at each character of this word, 平 means level and 常means common. A way of using it in a sentence is 我平常早上九点起床。(Wǒ píngcháng zǎoshang jiǔ diǎn qǐchuáng.) I usually wake up at nine in the morning.
正常 (zhèng cháng) Normal
Finally, we can create the word 正常 (zhèng cháng) which means ‘normal’. The 正 here means correct. A way of using it in a sentence is 你的血压很正常。(Nǐ de xuèyā hěn zhèngcháng.) Your blood pressure is normal. This may be something you hear from a doctor when you go for a health assessment.
